If you put a decently intelligent person in a library with only books in Thai. They will not learn the script or language. They will however learn patterns and might become able to answer certain questions because you know typical symbols to follow, whilst not knowing the language. That's basically how the AI model of chatGPT works (not all AI is the same). It can give you very humanlike responses but doesn't know a thing about what it's saying.
