I have nothing against AI art itself, I think it’s incredible. I do agree however that the art used to train an AI shouldn’t be used without permission, and creating a model to copy someone’s art style without their permission is like stealing gold and melting it into a giant gold coin. Just because it’s a new coin doesn’t mean the gold it was made from isn’t stolen. I also don’t think AI art should completely replace human art because if I’m being perfectly honest, drawing something with my own hand is way more fun and satisfying for me than generating a picture anyway.
