So i do disagree with a great many points brought up in this video, but a sentiment I fully agree with is that the future of image generation AI models shouldnt be built on the work and effort of unwilling and unconcenting artists. I do however believe that this technology HAS to be embraced and brought forward to better humantiy and everyone's lives as a whole, and if every artist in the world needs to poison their art and we need to develop new tools to poison every new image uploaded to the internet in new and creative ways in order to get the message accross that we need to develop these AI models in healthy and respectful ways... Then I believe wholeheartedly that artists should fight in any way they can and make use of every tool they can to do so.
Just remember, one day not too far, its possible that there may be a small and innocent child undergoing a dangerous surgery of some sort that wasn't possible before, and perhaps laying poison in the AI systems helping to try save that childs life may lead to the loss of it instead... But then again, that would also catapult the awareness of the importance of scraping data from willing individuals only.
