generative ai (specifically generative. not necessarily other ai types) has to be the worst invention in recent history. 1- singlehandedly killing the internet 2- leaving thousands of artists without jobs. also stealing from artists or pretending to be artists at conventions to scam people while taking up spots that should've gone to real artists. 3- making just about everything you see on the internet untrustworthy. that way even incredible real artworks get met with suspicion instead of amazement 4- wasting billions of dollars, and forcing the cost onto citizens through increasing their powerbills by insane amounts. 5- being used to filter through job applications, making it a thousand times harder to get a job 6- making people significantly less intelligent, ruining media literacy, killing critical thinking. somewhat ruining education. i could go on but you get the point. all for what? videos of cartoon charecters getting arrested? yeah totally funny bro i've seen it a thousand times already. nothing you make with ai wouldn't be infinitely better if it was real instead. and that's the worst part. if the ai videos being generated were all hand animated or 3d animated instead, they'd be funny as fuck. Cause some dumbass actually spent hours making some silly stupid joke. there'd also be far fewer of them, so they'd hit so much harder. instead we get forcefed slop that has no meaning, human connection or anything at all to latch on to. and THEY wanna play victim? fr? THEY are the ones crashing out?
