How about we stop all of the completely unnecessary "innovation" and simply go back to doing what works? What was wrong with education prior to the 1960s? If education in the 1960s was good enough to produce astronauts and military geniuses such as Patton, what exactly are we trying to improve? 19th century military academies, boys and girls schools (separate schools by sex to focus on specific issues that are unique to each gender), and reform schools for the underprivileged? Finally, the focus of any new school system should be recruiting teachers who are SUBJECT MATTER EXPERTS (they are trustworthy enough because they literally "know" something about a given subject) not individuals with "teaching degrees" (laughably fraudulent credentialse). It's so ludicrous that Valuetainment unironically undervalues the profession of teaching by pretending that sitting your child in front of a computer for 2 hours to "learn" from an AI-robot (generated lesson platform, probably not even AI) is somehow better than what takes place within the juvenile detention centers already (hint to Valuetainment: the Juvenile detention centers within Nebraska already do this). You have reduced the profession of teaching to babysitting, yet again. I know that ValueTainment will likely not bother reading through the comments since undoubtedly you receive 10's if not hundreds of thousands of comments a day, but true education reform requires something that entitled narcissists will simply never understand: society is a living organism. Each member of society plays a critical role in the outcome of the system. When you pretend that you can simply place a student in front of an AI system, you demonstrate both your ignorance of what AI is, and what a Western education means. Fundamentally, Valuetainment does not understand that education isn't simply memorization of facts, but the implementation of critical thinking skills. Facts are important since without those one lacks the breadth of knowledge to think critically. However, without developing critical thinking skills (which Valuetainment unfortunately lacks for this particular issue) you cannot understand what is happening even if one has been provided with an unlimited knowledge base. The average individual has the ability to search out and find a near endless amount of information on the internet, yet chooses NOT to do so because the average person is ignorant of what to search for, and, even when provided with this information verbatim, is incapable of exercising critical thinking skills thus making the exercise in seeking out knowledge superfluous.
