I just...don't see any evidence of real cognition. It's all well and good to say leave whether it's "thinking" up to the philosophers, but thinking is biological hardware projecting inputs into cognitive outputs. AI does not interpret, it approximates, it doesn't think, it aggregates information. it's just not intelligent in any meaningful sense and it can't prefer things because a preference is bound by physiological experience. AI doesn't get a dopamine ding when you tell it what a good AI it is. It doesn't have a brain. It can't commit logical fallacies the same ways human thinking often does, it would only do so if it was repeatedly fed text prompts that were consistently incorrect. It's a totally passive system with no goals or desires of it's own and it's only real talent is convincing people it does more than it does.
