AI vibe is very much what software engineers are forced to do these days. Often they’re mandated to do fully agentic development. And unless the token prices go up drastically soon, this will be the only way the industry operates. Even with the tokens getting more expensive, the emphasis will still be on finding ways to game the system either by empirically figuring out how you can make agents focus on the most intensive but least expensive / context-light tasks or by running crappier models locally. Even if at some point if you were to shift the whole industry to working manually and it would be fast or faster (considering the bugs and the rapid generalized deterioration of skills), there would be no way of knowing that since no one would even think to experiment. Such a joy killer…
