Some weeks ago I watched drama develop in my kid’s circles when someone tried to pass off ai art as self-authored. In a couple of days they admitted to having prompted it. But I had predicted reason myself, exactly: They did it because they wanted to be a part of the creative community, they wanted so hard to belong they were ready to lie. Of course when this happens with kids it’s cute. But with full-grown adults the motivations become more sinister very easy.
