We needed legislation to limit AI development worldwide to where it can only be used as a tool and a GI should be illegal, but that ship has sailed because no matter what someone will keep going trying to get national advantage. So now what we need is for the world to come together for the safety of our entire speciesand designate an area of land in the world that we can populate with volunteers that live in an isolated grid without any connection to modern digital technologies so that the AI can’t reach it. A fail, safe society that would be humanity last stand if things go sideways.
