Interconnecteness is key. Saying one needs to take action to prevent against poverty of self ignores the effect on yourself when large numbers of people are impoverished. These low level, non tech jobs do society a big favour, they provide purpose, and especially for those with low IQ or who have other disabilities or don’t have tech or entrepreneurial skills. Everyone loses when most do not thrive. We see this with addiction, civil unrest and violence. You are inseparable. The downstream and upstream consequences of the dislocation of humans from being a contributor to society and having purpose is being ignored. Greed is at the center. Many blue collar workers are not likely going to be techies or entrepreneurs. Crime will rise. AI robots may oppress uprisings and it will be dystopia hell. Who the hell wants to live in a world like this? Unless one is a sociopath. Read ‘The Matter With Things’ by neurologist, researcher, literary scholar, etc., Dr Iain Mcgilchrist. Many techies and entrepreneurs are stuck in the “parts” of the fragmented and linear left hemisphere and need to consider the creative gestalt of the right hemisphere. Few want this apart from those who see dollar bills but those will be gone too as currency changes. What a disaster. Our materialism has allowed AI become a new religion.
