As someone who uses AI for robots/androids, I want to make a video on the ethics of AI. First off, I wouldn't consider myself an "artist", but I do love drawing and creating scenes in Unreal Engine and Halo Infinite Forge. My main project atm is an AI controlled android from the show Murder Drones. I have stated numerous times in my videos and posts that I am not going to clone the voice. I made a voice for the character by recording my best impression, feeding it into a voice changer, and cloned that. Nobody's voice was stolen. Despite that, people constantly ask me to just clone the actress or to ask her to. These people have no perspective onto why that's immoral, as they likely don't work in a field that's being exploited, or understand how creepy it is that your voice, something entirely intrinsic to YOU, can be used by ANYONE for any reason. VA's know this because they have to see it most often. Another thing I needed was training data for the character's conversation model. Instead of scraping the internet, I asked in my last video for people to comment things the character would say, specifically for training data. Voluntarily, I got over 1,500 comments from people eager to contribute. Now we've got Elon, someone with infinitely more resources than me, just scraping everyone on his platform. If I, some nobody, can get that much data by asking, there's no excuse for people like Elon to steal. He's already got a cult of willing people. Sure, they are mostly if not all comprised of people stealing and not creating anything new, but that's his problem. Using AI to replace the creative aspect in creative works makes the end result worthless. There's nothing behind it. It's a regurgitated mishmash of stolen ideas. Using AI to replace human interaction... that's evil. If you can't take the time to actually respond to someone, you do not care about them, and you do not deserve them.
