Imagine you're a dancer. Dancing is an art form of course. If you're a professional, and you sell tickets for people to come see you dance, what is your reaction to someone in the front row miming your moves? They've paid to be there. They've invested their time and money to come see you, and they are on some level seeking to learn from you and perform the way that you do. This is a fan.
Now someone recorded you without your permission, and put your recording into a robot that copies your dance, and books the stage next door.
