Similar to Medicare and Medicaid, maybe we can have both socialism and capitalism. Have our governmental representatives vote for a program that funds government brands of different businesses. People only get access to the government brand if they opt in. Those opted in will be taxed at a higher percentage, but they will also get UBI. Depending on if and what you work as for the government, your UBI could be higher or lower thus incentivizing work. However, since the percentage tax is so high, there won’t really be any one super rich, unless they leave the program and go into the capitalistic side. This allows for the super rich to stay in their power bubble, while the working class bands together and helps each other out in their own bubble. We could also keep the currency the same so that business between the capitalist sphere and socialist sphere is possible allowing for those in the program to still be possible target consumers. Assuming the program works and is efficient, not many people would really want to work for the rich anymore. If the rich wants anyone to work for them, they now have to compete with the government and provide good enough incentives to get the workers back. Or maybe the rich can just have an all robot team. Previously, this idea could not work because it takes a lot of work and innovation to start new businesses. However, now that all the testing and trials for different products are done, the program can spend less money on the research, as they only need to copy the products from the super rich sphere.
