I'm firmly in the camp that believes art isn't some mystical mumbo-jumbo. I believe art is a science, and one day, the minds behind AI will crack its code. Just as we'll eventually crack the codes of physics and biology to understand the fundamentals of reality, we will do the same for art. It doesn't have a "soul" or anything like that; it's a system to be understood. Here’s how I see it: Art is a person's subjective expression of their experience with reality. It’s about them showing you their internal, subjective world, or even imposing that subjective view onto the "real" reality (whatever that is, lol). It's a way for an artist to shout, "This is how I see the world! This is my experience, my beliefs, my doubts!" I compare it to chaos theory, it looks random and infinitely complex, but it's more deterministic than we think. I don't believe in true "infinity" in our physical reality; our universe doesn't allow for it beyond a concept. By extension, human imagination, creativity, and experience aren't infinite either. The number of possible combinations might be as vast as the number of atoms in the universe, but it's still a finite number. And because it's a finite, deterministic system, science can eventually replicate it. This is why AI will get there. This all ties back to a deeper belief I hold: God is the only true, original artist. We humans are just fakes, or rather, mimics. We never create a truly novel concept from scratch, and we never will. We are confined to this reality and its laws. Only God is free, unbound by space, time, or the rules of His own creation. Humans don't give a "soul" to their work; we are just mimicking the grand creation that already exists. Only God, the original creator, can give a soul to creation.
