As an IT-guy, I find AI tools, including AI art generation, extremely fascinating. I love reading papers and keeping up with the progress made in just a few short months. To that, personally, I consider myself an artist, although I'm not particularly technically skilled. I find drawing to be a relaxing activity and have even created pictures for friends and family. And I used to do photography a lot in college to help me sustain financially. With my tech background and love for art, I see immense benefits in using AI tools to speed up my creative workflow. While I haven't given much thought to the potential damage caused to artists by having their art incorporated into large datasets without their consent, I do believe that the art world is on the verge of a significant shift in terms of how art is created and consumed. As artists, we will adapt and evolve alongside AI tools, but I also believe that there will always be a market for "man crafted" art in the future. Just as people continue to purchase handcrafted items, even when cheaper alternatives are available, there will always be a desire for unique and authentic art. That being said. As AI tools become more prevalent in the art world, it's crucial that we find a way to ensure that artists are fairly compensated for their work, even if it's used in large datasets. It's important to respect the intellectual property rights of artists and to find a way to provide them with the compensation they deserve. I believe that as the art world continues to evolve alongside AI technology, we will find ways to ensure that artists are treated fairly and that their work is valued appropriately.
