Always thought my field was secured. I am a Case Worker, but started out a a caregiver 15yrs ago for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities Similarly to senior care or CNA, work is around the clock 24.7 365. Sadly, there is currently remote caregivers. While not everyone could use remote caregivers, such as medically fragile, I can see physical robots coming in next robots can be programmed. So much that you can program them to respond to medical emergencies, give meds, provide personal care, they can be programed to be person centered follow specific plans and also never abuse neglect or exploit people and they can be programmed to deescalte situations. Then, electric vehicles could provide transportation. With online medical charts at clinics the medical info can be funneled into said robot. These robots could be programmed to provide CPR and narcan epipens read vitals etc. Never mind my job which will virtually be gone because without risk for health and safety concerns and computer work I do this would take away a need for various things. Of course it is NOT ideal all people need human interaction just as children do. Plus doing so would be VERY ISOLATING similarly to days of institutionalization I could see a class action lawsuit and major violations to various laws and human rights. Sadly I fear we will end up seeing this occur across health and human services before somethings hacked or goes south then itll be reversed only after people are harmed and seriously injured or delayed from progress. I think Baymax meet Smart House Meets Idiocrasy. I am alarmed by the willful blind dive into all this AI. I refuse to use AI bots like chatGPT and others, because I refuse to give AI info about my life my family or and about job. Sadly people do not realize how quickly they are throwing away their futures, job security professional options and whole fields of work and scopes of education. Eventually college is going to be useless due to how many people are essentially cheating not truly doing the work or retaining the information. Humanity MUST remember technology AND AI is a tool and should only ever be used as a tool, but should never replace humans nor the things we do..
