Bosses hire people to do stuff they do not know how to do themselves, while that is clever, it also means bosses do not know or understand their employees work... But yeah, bosses are now starting to lecture their employees on how to do their work with AI.
My boss insisted to help me with using AI to do my job. I am a developer, my boss is non technical.
He adviced me to take copies of the code base and put them on my own computer to get a sandbox, and he also told me that I can copy code into chatGPT...
Taking a copy (using git clone fx) is the only way to work on the code base, I have been doing that for 5 years now.
Also, I use AI for coding even before I got this job, I KNOW you can copy code into chatGPT...
It was so degrading, and because it was my boss I just had to take it with a smile while being really angry :)
