You can raise the alarm. Regardless of what happens with AI those who are creating companies developing it will be just fine. So raising the alarm is not going to impede on their success. They win either way. If the govt is concerned with immigrants taking US citizens jobs or offshoring jobs is bad, then protecting US workforce from AI is equally as important. Regulations are needed, protection by the government is needed to help bring those things together and protect its people, just like it does against diseases and other economic conditions. EVery institution and citizen plays a role in protecting and growing its civilization.
