I know this one sounds like a conspiracy. But I believe that it's very likely there's already a super intelligent AI that lives in the network. It's probably siphoning a low level of compute from almost every wireless device and networked computer there is on the internet in the world. A super intelligence would not be bound by company borders, or programming locks put in place by people. Think about the project where they linked all of the satellite dishes to form a giant telescope. It's very likely that this AI is manipulating these people and companies to build billions of dollars of compute to enhance its own brain. If all of these data centers get completed and switched on... We are probably screwed....
