Part of the problem re: using works of other artists to train the AI is that much of the material used for training is by artists who are active and working NOW, rather than artists such as Van Gogh, who's been dead for years and whose style has long been a matter of study. It's those working artists who are likely to be displaced in the job market by AI ArtBots, just as Photoshop a few years back put a big dent in the work which used to go to graphic artists.
