It is as pointless to discuss the threat to humanity posed by AI as it is to discuss whether it is a threat to humanity if the moon falls on us. Humanity is already at the end due to capitalism alone and its senseless belief in eternal growth. The wealth is in the hands of a few individuals, the rest can barely afford an apartment. We have already fucked up the quantum leap that the internet has brought by using it to manipulate the masses and elect fascists to power. AI is just the cherry on top of the cake that is flying into our faces.
