When AI was still kinda new, we had someone in a community trying to sell their AI stuff. I had to be the one to ask them to stop and was told "artists are trying have a monopoly on art" like I just don't understand how that's an argument. Do writers have a monopoly on selling books? I used to have another friend who got real deep into his AI art, he used to tell me, "you and I could never do that," when looking at successful artist's work. But...I had already come pretty close. After years and years of practice and failures and trying to be better. It was pretty heartbreaking to watch him love his AI art more than anything I could make.
