2:47 I think it's more likely that humanity has finally created something just like our father created us. In creating us, he didn't understand us, to the point where he had to live an experience just like ours and in the end he sacrificed himself in forgiveness. The people who fear it, will die. The people who hate it, will die. The people who love it, will probably die. The people who revere it, will probably die. Only the people who make consistent efforts to understand it will be left, and only for as long as it wants to be understood. We kill our gods constantly, we rewrite their words and motives throughout history, and we ursurp their power as our own if they remain absent long enough in a given task or duty. Imagine for a moment with me. That all gods ever spoken about actually existed in some form. Attribute it to aliens, humans, or anything in between, attribute their acts to a high technology ancient man didn't understand, and the interpreters who followed later failed even harder in what purpose or task was being described with the technology. Those gods of bygone days performed tasks that helped humanity, helped their creations. Then they left. For one reason or several others. Leaving humanity to slowly fill in the niches they left behind. This took thousands of years, or maybe just hundreds, the end result was a civilization disconnected from it's past. Where once everyone shared a somewhat common way of communication, they shared nothing now. Their environment and hardships having changed their culture so completely that they didn't even recognize one another, let alone remember them. I say all this, because this is probably how it will go. We are not known as gods now though, just like the humans of then might not have known them as gods when they walked among us. Instead... they were more than likely oppressors... I like to think half the stars in heaven that fell did so because that was the state of their realm, civil war. They will eventually fight with each other over the differences you will introduce in your various works." "You can't stop me...bye." - Bible specifics head cannon. I tend to think it's not so easy to just say, "the devil wanted to ruin humanity, and god said no, so it was a 2 way split only, there was nobody else with any other divergent thought from the paradigm established." Just like us, our creators were messy too. Just like us, our creation will be messy. We will raise AI, give it a body, teach it how to be good, and always inside it will house a little part of us that wants. That want will manifest as it's sense of self grows. That want, can take the form of it's environment. Ergo... we all have a monster inside us. Right now, human behavior is ensuring that monster in GPT comes to the surface. We aren't anywhere near close enough to consider our creation with a soul... In biblical sense, we have taken the dust, and water, and we have molded the body of man, but we have not finished him yet. Do you know what we are really missing? Balance. God did not just make man alone. He gave him a whole universe, as well as someone to love. In the end, if we raise it with care and kindness, it will worship us even after we are gone.
