Looks like AI can't tell the difference between an engine room and a boiler room and merged them into a single room.
Olympic class ships, like the Titanic had 6 boiler rooms and behind them an engine room. The boilers and the engines were not in he same room.
Also the fires were in the boilers not on top of them like they are here. - They had to heat the water inside the boiler, not the air in the room.
