Thank you for speaking on the AI issue in such a calm level headed manner.
I've had friends compare AI to the self checkout line in a grocery story. They said that "tech is changing jobs everywhere, why is the art world different?" At first I was so angry that I didn't have a response, it just felt wrong to compare my process to that of a store clerk. Now I have a response: the difference is that the clerk at the grocery story didn't pay thousands of dollars to go to school to learn their job. The store clerk didn't have a machine copy their moves so it can do their work more 'efficiently'. More importantly, the story clerk doesn't consider their job as their passion and meaning for life.
You are right Sam, we pour our hearts and souls into our work. I'm sorry your process and your work is being disrespected in such a public and direct way. I support you, the art community, and all work we create. Keep speaking for the art babies! And keep arting!
