I'm 42. My entire adult life corporations have done stuff like this and the outcome has always been the same. New technology appears and replaces workers, workers have to learn a new skill and get a new job. I'm not saying it's cool, but it's kinda rare to get locked into a job for longer than 10 years. To corporations who don't care about people it's either hire the robot or move to Mexico.
AI has been out of Pandora's box for over a decade. And legislators were too busy collecting donations to even learn about it. It's a little late to put it back in the box. Adaptation (personally and through regulation) is the only realistic way to adjust.
