hmm, a lot of it looks like controlnet(as opposed to inpainting which it could also be) so its just using it as a reference, you still technically need the full model to generate everything but its just using the initial image as a starting off point which is why you are seeing the errors (also because their steps werent high enough or it wasnt generated with high enough resolution). The term "feeding it" isnt technically correct unless you are creating a lora from it, as using controlnet is just doing a general reference and its not actually using the inputted image at all, rather its just using it to guess how it should draw the image.
I guess the TLDR if you dont know how stable diffusion works is if you are just inpainting with a denoise of .50 or below you are just altering the image, if you are using controlnet like Canny or using inpainting with a denoise of .75 or above you are generally no longer using most of the initial art but just using it as a loose visual reference.
