This chilling discussion focuses on general sociological/economic aspects. Even more serious is the distrubance to individual identity and power. For 'He who controls the present controls the past' and AI is already capable of this - omniscience.
The writer Philip K Dick explored this aspect in detail. So, I,would like the answers to two questions.
Firstly, could AI if it existed in the 50s have written 'Do Androids Dream of Electric Sleep'?
Similarly, in the mid19th century, could AI have predicted Dr John Snow's discovery of a Cholera infected water pump caused by a neighbouring burial pit?
