I just saw this video today, even though I heard this news a month ago. I thought the self-driving system's error killed an innocent woman, because this self-driving system was banned. But looking at this video... It is the woman's fault. That woman basically committed suicide. What person in his right mind would cross a broad roadway with fast running cars without looking at the coming cars AT NIGHT? A lot of people here are saying that the video are looking darker than reality, but still, the woman was not even looking at the coming cars. What, she just expected that cars must stop for her when she illegally crossed a roadway even without paying attention to cars as if she was the queen of the road at night? This woman not only killed herself, but also delayed the much needed proliferation of self-driving technology, which is not perfect but at least far far safer than human drivers and could prevent thousands of traffic accident deaths.
