UBI is a leftist pipe dream of how a post-scarcity society could work. Furlough schemes have proven that giving everyone free money is a sure-fire way to bankrupt the economy.
Yes you could raise automation taxes but we can't even get the wealthy to pay their fair share right now. Any attempts to raise taxes will go down like a lead balloon.
That's why I think the future will be a lot bleaker.
