You know I get that right now In the market we are in the goal is to use AI to cut cost, and that it does in fact cut jobs which is at the moment a fault of our current capital based society, but this would still be an issue in a more socialist or communist society, because from a purely technological perspective the goal would be to develop ai to the point of erasing all labor. Its the argument of mankind make machines which build smarter machines so that technology can evolve, and serve mankind so that nobody ever has to work. And because right now we live in a system where work is necessary to live any erasure of that work being taken by machines ends up harming lives rather than supporting the lives it is theoretically supposed to liberate from labor in a finalized state of technological development. Of course that brings up other issues of will the machines actually serve humanity or will it go rogue, but the goal of technological development for the most part has always been automation. Once it’s just that at first it automated long survival tasks like bringing water from a well to your home. Then from horses to cars but now because we are automating specialized tasks rather than just the inconvenient tasks everyone needed to do for basic survival. But because we’ve marketed our value towards more specialized tasks as the new things you have to do to survive rather than just the basics that is where the struggle comes from.
