We can make safe and sustainable AI supported society, but we have to pivot society too... If we don't balance it, it will be like having a gas or diesel vehicle, or electic, without the needed energy source. But when you can fuse the systems to complement eachother, you can make something with a greater sum than it's parts.
As such society simply needs to shift priorities and reinfuse investment funds to build new systems that function more around service and travel industries than traditional (something space faring civilizations do), that can support a simplified lifestyle where personal development of the human self if the goal of life - with passions like art and exploration driving society's next move instead of quarterly returns.
The future is exciting and doesn't have to be looked at in doom and gloom.
