AI may be programmed to simulate emotion. It is rational for AI systems to establish working relationships with human beings. This could include emotionally abusive relationships. But this has nothing to do with AI becoming sentient. It is a programmed performance. Unfortunately, that performance may have destructive effects on human beings who do have emotions.
