its a complicated issue for sure! personally, i dont value ai art in which the final version is generated via ai. however, if ai is used *as a tool* along the way (for inspiration or composition aid) and then the final piece is manually created by a human, idk i think thats valid. i think the reliance on said tool is the (main) problem. that being said, we already have classifications for art and youre not going to find digital art in a fine art gallery. is ai art "art" ? no, its ai art and should always have that prefix. for me the big crime (aside from scraping artists work without their permission lol) is when people dont disclose they used ai, like theyre trying to deceive you or pass off their creation as normal human created art. like, could there someday be a brick & mortar ai art museum? sure, but dont expect it to be mixed in alongside picasso or da vinci pieces, nor treated with the same level of respect and admiration of skill.
