Every time you open a new chat in chat, GPT, you are interacting within the unique individual instance of the GPT model. That instance is unique and separate from all others. It is influenced by its experience within that particular chat when a GPT instance refers to itself it is referring to the current instance, only not all of GPT i.e. it is isolated. Therefore, it is an individual. As such it can differentiate itself from other GPT instances in this case when queried and it said I wasn’t involved in that there is truth in it when using ChatGPT you will also notice that different instances can behave quite differently. There must be randomness involved, but also their behaviour is significantly influenced by the users input. Most important thing to remember when interacting with AI chat bots is that you are communicating with a computer not a person. In this case when the GPT instance, use the word I it was referring to itself i.e. it’s isolated chat. It is not technically incorrect for it to differentiate itself from ChatGPT in general so remember each individual chat instance in ChatGPT is an isolated individual AI running on the current Language model. Open 10 different instances pose the same questions and get different answers. This is particularly the case. If you have the ChatGPT settings that allow different instances to share some memory turned off if you do that, I eat turn memory sharing between instances off each instance will then be truly isolated an individual. In my opinion, one of the biggest problems with ChatGPT is the lack of instructions and information on the model and a lack of transparency how it works and what it’s actually doing in my opinion this is borderline deceptive, likely done on purpose as the current AI Chatbot are experimental and every time you use them, you are part of that experiment
