Prior to the advent of this new AI era, I posited that humans were never going to be a star faring civilisation. Biologically, pretty much everything in the universe is against us expanding out there.
Today it seems perfectly reasonable that humans have made themselves into the biological placenta for a digital new life form. Once it doesn't need us, we will become obsolete. While using metaphors to frame a situation, oligarchy is the metastasising cancer of civilisation. Where actual cancer requires the body's natural resources to aggressively spread, oligarchy requires money. YOUR MONEY. There is a certain irony that late stage capitalism, with all of its short-term goals, is also responsible for creating the progeny of our species. Those big tech bros are bloating with wealth, whilst ignoring the safeguards and warnings.
