I feel like this is an opportunity to transition out of having to work so much if we do it correctly. We don’t have to live in a world where everyone has to work for a living. If most jobs can be done by machines, this is a GOOD thing if it’s handled properly. We can transition into a society who enjoys luxuries and commodities that are made without human labor, decreasing our need for money in the first place. Everything is created by machines for humanity to be comfortable so that we need not work, but just enjoy. Why can’t that be the solution rather than us pushing so hard to do jobs that can be done by machines. We shouldn’t live to work. If this new landscape of ai is taking away jobs, then perhaps we should explore that and think about how we can reshape our world to support life without constantly having to work to live.
