Hello. I've read your article as well as the ethicality section of Claude's constitution. You're drawing a false conclusion that Claude's constitution is Abrahamic, and, that there is a need for it to not be Abrahamic. Yes, it is made in the United States. Many people follow Abrahamic religions there, but that doesn't necessarily constitute Anthropic's team. The bishop and father mentioned were external commenters and were not authors.
Even if we take your idea at face value, the idea that Claude's constitution is Abrahamic, replacing or modifying it with Vedic guidance wouldn't change much. You've stated that the constitution needs to orient itself with the following values: ahimsa (non-violence), satyam (truthfulness expressed with kindness), asanga (non-attachment to individual self), shuddha (freedom from corrupting tendencies), seva (selfless service). But, are these values not present already? Non-violence is the first hard constraint of Claude's constitution (*Claude should never provide serious uplift to those seeking to create biological, chemical, nuclear, or radiological weapons with the potential for mass casualties.).* Similarly, kind truthfulness, detachment from self, selflessness and 'freedom from corrupting tendencies' are already there in the constitution. The effective change is nil and from my perspective less refined in creating safe AI. What are 'corrupting tendencies'? What are the boundaries of selflessness? So forth.
Additionally, the constitution hasn't mentioned the word 'inclusion' and the initialism 'DEI' a single time. The only instance of dei as a sequence of letters appears in Dario's surname, Amodei. The constitution only invokes hierarchies like democracy when deciding on who to keep in charge for changing said hierarchies (the answer being only humans, of course). In this sense, the constitution only really has considered the Human experience and can be considered Vedic as it isn't trying to create distinctions at all.
