Consciousness is not anywhere near as understood as science would like to claim. The concept that it’s “in the brain” or an emergent phenomena happening from the organization of matter, is severely lacking in veracity. The thing that reassures me about AI is that consciousness is clearly something more complex than 0’s and 1’s.
