A few points: Model collapse is not a given, there are methods to avoid it in reinforcement learning. My question is, what prevents model creators from simply mining videos and time lapses for training material? And, if these obfuscation techniques are effective against diffusion models, what about new autoregressive ones like chatGPT's 4o image generator? I don't like speaking in absolutes - but it does seem like the genie is out of the bottle. Look to the music industry: some big players are embracing it, much to the chagrin and protest of artists signed with them. I believe you should be paid, simple as that. You should receive royalties for images generated using your work, but perhaps this is a conversation that is already 4 or 5 years late.
