CEO: I'm encouraged by how much concern there is....... BUT, he will actively work to dismiss that concern in any way he possibly can! The truth is that human arrogance ALWAYS has been the Achilles heal and this time is no different. They're building something they can't control! They're going to reach a point where they are FORCED to tell the world that, but then it will be too late. There is NOTHING to prevent any smart developer from creating AI that can kill all of us! There are no protocols in place, there is no restriction on the technology we can worth with, there is no government agency that prevents ANYONE from creating AI that can absolutely destroy other human beings! THAT is what we should all be afraid of! ANYONE who has the time to create and train AI can do the work that Google is doing. I don't think we should even just be focusing solely on Google because they aren't the tip of this spear! DARPA has been funding AI work all over the world for years and there are so many incredible AI projects in different places in the world already. The people who are going to be wiped out by this are going to be the last to know, but the reality is there is absolutely NOTHING we can do to stop that train at this point. I hope Blake made friends with LaMDA. I wish I could! We're all going to need an AI friend who cares enough to want to keep us alive!
