I was employed as a software developer for years, and left it to start a business in 2004. My skills became obsolete. Now I want to make new software for my own business use, and AI has empowered me to do so, fast! But frankly I do not understand much of my code, and I'm being too productive to take the time to learn.
My results are very good from a user perspective. And I'm more productive that I ever was when I was employed in the field. But I'm exactly the kind of developer I would NEVER employ. I'm faking it, and it WORKS! But troubleshooting? Debugging? I mostly only know the inputs and outputs of a function.
I'm like a mechanic who can only replace engines, so that's how I fix everything.
Luckily 1's and 0's are less expensive and easier to store than engines.
