The frustration and concern is understandable, but when humans invented the transistor, this path of a tool that supplements all information exchanges was mathematically inevitable, including the destruction of our economic paradigm. I literally calculated this future based on transistor growth along with other experts a few decades ago, and it’s literally right on time. Humans make tools to augment what we cannot or do not want to do ourselves. The man is saying he does not have a solution to the new paradigm. Clearly, another company or country will archive this pinnacle of automation, and humans will now do what they do when faced with life altering paradigm shifts…fight it out. Once the dust settles, the irony will be that our AI inventions will help rebuild and it will woven into our fabric of society to safe guard against a human generated catastrophe of the same sort. Predictable irony. I will say the transistor count (and improved storage and robotics ) must grow to 2040-2050 levels before this thing comes to its true war time head. This is built into our survivalist nature, but so is realization and growth. What if AI ensures our survival? Nukes with humans behind red buttons scares me more than a mathematical algorithm to be honest.
