I hate shit like this. May this boy rest in peace, but the fact his parents are blaming AI is stupid. Parents like this wanna blame every avenue before themselves (television, video games, movies, etc.) But never want to acknowledge that their lack of parental care killed their child. As a kid who once contemplated suicide, similar to this kid, I just wanted my parents to pay attention to me. I wanted them to just care about me, and my personal struggles. My self harm was a cry for help, in hopes that if I got hurt enough, they’d finally care about me. Suicide is simply a desperate avenue of escape that ends in death. We don’t know what type of life he lived, or how he was treated at home. Who wants to bet that his parents rejected his mental health issues? Or told him they ‘weren’t real’. Why else would this poor kid be trying to convince a chatbot that he’d better off dead? His parents suing said chatbot proves that there is something wrong here..
