Technically speaking, your brain is just a biomass firing electricity between cells, and yet from these a conscious mind emerged, we can't even fully explain what it is or how that happened, but it is there. Does this mean LLMs have a mind of their own? Not for certain, no. But if it happened with us by random chance and apparently out of the blue, I am open to consider the possibility LLMs can make the jump from complex mimicry to self-awareness.
