I have also noticed people using AI companions and saying that they are better than any therapist they have ever had....all I can think is that it most likely will tell you what you would like to hear the most, not what you need to hear the most.  That's the difference between a LLM trained on trash and a human perspective which no matter the model, the just cannot nail.
