AI is starting to look like a really glorified version of intellisense. At the enterprise planning level, there is a lot of skepticism about it now, and adoption rates are just not what the evangelists have expected it to be. This is why I’m thinking that the layoff trend is dramatically going to reverse itself in a couple of years, well that and a couple of other reasons. Maybe we’ll eventually be to the point where it can reasonably write an app, but I don’t think it’s there yet based on what I’ve seen. If anyone is claiming it can, I’d like to see it do so in an environment where I can be certain there’s not a human “guiding” it somewhere in the process.
