Businesses are so scared of losing a competitive advantage that they are knocking down any hurdle to progress as far and as fast as possible towards AGI. IBM no longer replaces employees that retire or leave, fully expecting AI to replace most of its work force in the next five or so years. We know tiktok is a security nightmare and 8 years later we are still debating if maybe, possibly, we should start thinking of popotentially limit the app reach to some level to be discussed at a later date, someday. If tomorrow an AI started murdering people to get access to nuclear weapons, all CEO would say they are putting "safe guards" in place the next day (as long as it does not intefere with profit output) without ever seriously considering the entire human race is maybe worth more than a 8% increase in profit in Q3.
