If north korea actually do an act of war such as firing a missile that hit an actual target in SK or Japan (let alone the US), the US, EU and other occidental powers will all enter the fray on the side of south korea & japan. I can't talk for sure what would be the detailed answer, but plans for neutralization of their arsenal and invasion like in iraq would definitely be on the table. We're just not repeating it at every NK new batch of threats, but that commitment isn't going away until further notice. As far as i'm concerned, i would also add that it's both obvious that the north korean system (i can't talk for it's individuals as persons, but as a system and way of life) is simply evil & oppressive and ran into the ground 20y ago with both hunger/undernutrition and concentration camps; and that on the opposite side South Korea on the other hand is a decent and developped country even by current standards (better standards than large parts of the US even. They do have their own social issues but it's obviously still very much one of the nicer places on earth, would support current Seoul any day). It would make the most sense to side with and reinforce the south koreans and oppose north korea as a gesture toward living standards for most people no matter your thoughts on "imperialism", "evil nato" or "russophobia" (or even on the republicans).
