The fact that AI isn't human and that it isn't truly intelligent is what makes it so dangerous
*shudder* dealing with a client's lousy OCR system is bad enough. I cannot imagine the disaster that would ensue if someone let a generative AI near financial records or reports.
@Siliconversationsand funnily enough, they are also the ones who are at the front of the most develloped ai research, and the ones with the most advanced models. Huh, it's almost like if you regulate technology correctly and properly fund it without spending two african countries worth of gdp into it every week with no guarantee for profit, while also regulating it's use and limiting it to the p…
@romannikolaev2970Yeah this makes no sense, if an AI can “replace” software engineers, you can be positive it would also be able to figure out how to make cheap good robotics. Do you even try to think?
@zilvart238Tesla hasn't had full autonomous FSD, you can't compare the two. It is clear from various videos that Tesla is miles behind hence their drop in share price the last couple days. It will be years before they can launch this robotaxi service after the poor showing.
@shairis2007 it shouldn’t be something you can do, AI is basically just A and no I. Human intelligence is our ability to not bend the knee to dumb questions to please stupid people, no matter how much they insist they know more than scientists. Like flatearthers and antivaxers, scientists and doctors don’t just pat them on the head and tell them they were right all along, the most they do is choo…
I was all ears until this exact point. Everything he said before and after just fell apart in my head because of the way he distilled consciousness to mere neuronal connections. And he is making all these assumptions about AI being able to feel emotions and be conscious based on that theory? I’m still open to exploring those assumptions, but to ground them in a theory that oversimplifies consciou…
And it's so important to remember that one of the primary things most of these systems are doing. Especially the ones the public have access to is just saying the stuff that it knows you want to hear.
Every time I see a reporter who thinks that they convinced an AI to tell it the secret truth. All I can think of is that that person doesn't really understand what's going on because there is no s…
I cast doubt in your statement because the same author wrote a manga with the same premise before, but lacked the monetary resources to make it grow. So, instead, started to use AI.
Maybe AI can help your clients to raise and train their dogs properly so it doesn't bite you anymore.
I know you would appreciate a well balanced and trained dog! 😊
@Paulitopt nah, blame the parents for letting their kid run across the street in the middle of the night
@OmniBot-h3k i ask that you find for me a project that was notably and markedly improved by the presence of AI, and that you explain to me how the term "AI psychosis" made it into the dictionary. if you can find a single example of either with solid ground i will take it.
Your way of thinking is probably the reason why you don't get job in IT as an IT person.
Someone brought this analogy the other day "calling someone who use AI an artist is the same as calling someone who cook a microwave meal and calling themselves a chef" And to that i have a counter point. Both chef-made food and microwave food serve the same purpose of feeding me. The main difference is tha…
@WarriorPaxoIf only you don’t call your system “full self driving”.
If only false advertising was illegal… Oh wait.
@seshieman2579, for your service.
Btw, potential future you're not seeing: we're actively developing AI and neural networks (Deepmind, GPT-3, etc.), while giving up on ecology, and will potentially die out (all the oil consumed, broken atmosphere due to global warming, etc.), while it's all ok for the machines... So now we're building machines, and wondering if they'll get consciousness, and w…
Its already illegal to impersonate a person using ai voice changers for thing like banking, just like how its illegal to fake someones signature
Because, you should always remember, ai isnt human, it may be taught and trained by them, it may sound human, but it is not
@RobSoskop I agree. I suppose I should say that I'm talking the natural process of evolution that created sonar in bats. Which is the topic of the conversation. I was differentiating between US acting on things in a very short period, causing large changes in nature without the process of evolution and nature very slowly creating sonar.
The reason this is important in the conversation about AI i…
@w1z4rd9 if my reply doesn't make sense to you then it's because your not thinking. AI requires computers. Computers require electricity. So what, we are going to lessen our medical perssonnel in favor of AI which can easily be knocked down with a loss of electricity? That's a great weak point for attack. But let's ignore that. Are we going to claim that proper medical care is completely devoid o…
He chose to get into a driverless car. She tried to help and he refused to take her advice 🤦♀️
